Megan Fitzpatrick, Director of People- JBLM

Name:  Megan Fitzpatrick

Where were you born and raised?
Born in Portland, Oregon and raised in Spokane, Washington

What’s a short story around the biggest transition you’ve faced in life?
The biggest transition I’ve faced was my husband’s fourth deployment. This deployment was unlike any we had experienced before. This was my first deployment with two children (ages 3 and 7), I moved to be closer to family, and it was going to be the longest at 15 months. Balancing the demands of solo parenting, including school schedules, household responsibilities, and emotional support while finding a new normal and trying to keep my family connected through phone calls and video chats was challenging. It required adaptability and tenacity, ultimately shaping me into a more resilient, resourceful, and capable individual. Juggling the roles of parent, partner and military spouse with grace and determination, I learned ways my family could not just survive, but thrive paving the way for us all to be closer as a family.

What’s the one piece of advice you’d give a younger you?
Enjoy the moment and don’t sweat the small stuff.

Your Personal Why?
My Why will always be my family and the core values we live by-compassion and action.

How does your Why drive you to be a part of the THF Ecosystem?
My Why, which is centered around my family and our core values of compassion and action, strongly motivates me to be a part of the THF Ecosystem. The THF Ecosystem, with its mission and objectives, resonates deeply with what I hold dear. First and foremost, my family is at the core of my purpose. Their well-being, happiness, and success are of utmost importance to me. The THF Ecosystem provides an opportunity for me to contribute to a larger community and a greater good. Additionally, the values of compassion and action that my family and I live by are in perfect harmony with the ethos of the THF Ecosystem. The organization’s commitment to making a tangible impact in the SOF community is precisely what I stand for.

Military Connection or Why do you respect Special Operators?
I have known my husband for 31 years and we have been married for 23 years. He has served in the Army for the past 27 years, 14 years in 160th SOAR.

Favorite THF Value, and why?
Fierce Empathy is my favorite THF Value. Fierce empathy builds stronger, more authentic relationships with others. By approaching interactions with both determination and compassion, you’re more likely to connect with people on a deeper level and build trust and rapport. Through these authentic relationships I hope to have a positive impact on THF and the SOF community.

Area/Industry of expertise:
