Sarah Tirres, Program Coordinator- Eglin
Name: Sarah Tirres
Where were you born and raised?
I was born and raised in the small town of Cedar Hill,Missouri.
What’s a short story around the biggest transition you have faced in life?
My biggest transition in life would have to be marrying into the military. I was a small-town girl who did not know a single thing about military life. I quickly learned that my new normal would consist of rank, acronyms, and many deployments! Learning to adapt to circumstances that were out of my control taught me how to be independent and strong. I was able to grow deeper in my faith and truly stand up for what I believed in. My children gained a strong understanding and love for this country because of their amazing father and family friends who bravely fought to defend their freedom. I will forever be grateful and proud for this season of my life.
What’s the one piece of advice you would give a younger you?
Invest in your future while you are young.
Your Personal Why?
I plant seeds so flowers bloom in the garden.
How does your Why drive you to be a part of the THF Ecosystem?
Transitioning from the military can be incredibly scary and stressful. It is important to me to be helpful, encouraging, and uplifting to ease the hearts and minds of the sweet families walking through this new chapter of life.
Military Connection or Why do you respect Special Operators?
My husband served as a special operator for 18 years. I have experienced this life to the fullest- the good, the bad, and everything in between.
